Implemented investigative study into how women’s rights and women’s organisations are incorporated into policy of international financial institutions and how rights are affected by IFI funded projects in the MENA region, with a focus on the backlash against human rights defenders. Assessment of impacts of such policy on gender equality; available accountability mechanisms for women’s rights; and the negative consequences of counter terrorism measures were part of this study. 56 interviews with key informants were conducted in field work in Egypt and Jordan.
